We will be preparing communal food in Mijoux so please bring some your own food or if you can afford it bring some food to share with others. This can be food ingredients to be turned into recipes or already prepared. Food can be stored in the fridge and cooked in the hall kitchen.
A popular restaurant - book in advance. Lots of indoor space and a big sunny terrace. The owners are 'salt of the Earth'.
Good reviews. Eat in or take-away available.
Sherpa Supermarche, Mijoux
Well stocked village shop run by Francis (local) and his Australian wife Amber. Extra baguettes are being made available for our arrival. Plus freshly brewed coffee.
Located in Gex, 25 minute drive towards Geneva from Mijoux.
Mijoux is located at 1000m in the Haut Jura Mountains. The weather is usually moderately chilly with a gentle breeze, with temperatures ranging from 45—62°F (7—16°C) so remember to pack a sweater...
Local sign:
"The only sounds you'll hear are birds and farmers working and if you don't like these - you're in the wrong place."
Let's be considerate of the locals, we may wish to return one day.
We will be gathering here on the shores of Lake Geneva on Saturday / Sunday
Welcome Gathering
For those staying in Geneva there will be a city welcome gathering at Bains des Pâquis from 6pm on Friday 31st May.
